Back on the Journey

I believe we go through a series of stages as we embark on new chapters of our lives.  Back on the
Journey represents and follows these new phases after a brief withdrawal from the sojourn on my
part. These works contain branches that were carefully selected and collected from various places
along the way.  The Road, for example, contains pieces from my day-to-day stops, and also includes
branches that thoughtful people have given me. In addition, the background of each work is dyed
with Procion commercial fabric pigment that mimics the color sequence in the life cycle of a leaf.
